Acura offers several crossover SUV options, but we’d like to focus on the latest version of the Acura RDX and how it stacks up against one of its top competitors. For the new updated model year, the RDX carries over most of what has made it a fan favorite in the first place.

The 2021 Acura RDX employs the same power plant on every trim grade. Every trim grade of the 2021 RDX will have a turbocharged 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine under the hood that is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. It will make 272 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. That will account for a marked difference in performance when compared to the 2021 NX 300. People who choose the Lexus crossover SUV will have a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine at their disposal, but it will make only 235 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque.
Owners of either the 2021 Acura RDX or 2021 Lexus NX 300 will have two rows of seating to work with that will hold up to five people. Both crossover SUVs will have very similar dimensions for driver and front passenger legroom. However, the 2021 RDX can offer those sitting in the backseat up to 38 inches to stretch their legs. The 2021 Lexus NX 300 tops out at some two inches less.
When people are sitting in the back seat of the 2021 RDX there will be 29.5 cubic-feet of cargo volume to use. Folding the rear seat down will open the available cargo volume to 58.9 cubic-feet. A 2021 Lexus NX 300 will offer just 17.7 cubic-feet and 54.6 cubic-feet in respective seating configurations.
