Acura has made just a single powertrain available for customers interested in buying or leasing the 2021 Acura TLX. The four sedan trim grades will have a turbocharged 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine attached to a 10-speed automatic transmission. It will make 272 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. The base, Technology Package and Advance Package versions of the 2021 TLX with front-wheel-drive will be able to achieve up to 22 miles per gallon* in the city and 31 miles per gallon* on the highway. An A-Spec® model will get 22 mpg* in the city and 30 mpg* on the highway. All 2021 TLX models with Super Handling All-Wheel Drive™ will record 21 mpg* in the city and 29 mpg* on the highway.
On the other side of the equation, the 2021 Lexus ES 250 employs a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and uses all-wheel-drive only. It will make just 203 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. Owners of this vehicle can expect the 2021 ES 250 to post 25 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the highway. The Lexus ES family also includes an available V-6 engine, but it would only be equipped with front-wheel-drive.
