The 2022 Acura MDX is equipped with a naturally aspirated 3.5-liter, V-6 engine that will also be attached to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Drivers will be able to use 290 horsepower and 267 pound-feet of torque. An MDX or Technology model will come with front-wheel-drive but the Super Handling All-Wheel Drive® system can be equipped if the customer would like it. The A-Spec® and Advance models will only be outfitted with SH-AWD®. On the other side of the equation is the 2021 RX 350. The competing crossover SUV will have a naturally aspirated 3.5-liter, V-6 of its own, making approximately the same amount of power as the 2022 MDX.
Customers looking for more interior space will definitely want to check out the 2022 Acura MDX. The biggest difference between the Acura and RX 350 is the physical size. Owners of the 2022 MDX will have three rows of seats to work with, compared to just two rows in the 2021 Lexus RX 350. This means that the 2022 MDX can hold up to seven passengers and the Lexus crossover SUV will top out at 5 peoples. Additionally, the 2022 Acura MDX is able to translate that advantage in passenger capacity into an advantage in cargo volume. When the interior of the 2022 MDX is properly configured, there will be up to 71.4 cubic-feet of cargo volume to use, compared to just 32.6 cubic-feet in the 2021 Lexus RX 350.
