CDC COVID-19 Safety Tips for Thanksgiving 2020
For the past several months, basic COVID-19 prevention measures have become old hat. Wearing masks and constantly washing our hands are just part of our daily lives. However, it’s important that everyone remains disciplined and vigilant through the holidays, so things don’t spiral out of control. The Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta strenuously suggest staying home as much as possible for the holidays and limiting in-person celebrations to people who live in the same household and doing extended visits through virtual means. However, if you are bound and determined to see your friends and family in person, there are some things you can do to remain as safe and healthy as possible – as suggested by the CDC.

• In the weeks before your celebration, do your best to self-isolate. Be extra vigilant about wearing your mask, social distancing and washing your hands to prevent carrying the virus to your family and friends.

• Try to have the gathering outside, weather permitting. There isn’t a much worse scenario than being inside a building with a lot of people, who are very close together. The ability to meet and eat outside could be a very workable solution.

• Encourage your guests to wear masks and give one another plenty of space when they are not actively eating and drinking. These measures must be a total team effort to be successful.
